Pushkar Fair
Pushkar is a sacred town for the Hindus, situated 11 kms. to the north-west
of Ajmer. About 400 temples and shrines are located at Pushkar around its holy
lake, which finds a mention in the Padma Purana. Legend has it that Lord Brahma
in search for a spot to hold his 'yagna' (religious ritual), dropped the lotus
from his hand, the three spots touched by this flower were turned into lakes.

Nagaur Fair
The Nagaur Festival of Rajasthan, held in Nagaur district of Rajasthan, is the
second largest cattle fair in India. The Nagaur Festival in India is organised
every year during the Hindu month of Magh (Jan-Feb) whose basic purpose is cattle
trading. The cattle fair includes the purchasing and selling of cows, bullocks,
oxen and camels.

Brij Festival
The Brij Festival takes place a few days before Holi, (the festival of colours)
in the month of March. Held in honour of Lord Krishna, this festival is marked
by verve and zest. Villagers, in gay, multihued attire, can be seen singing
and performing the Raslila dance (dance depicting the immortal love-story of
Radha and Krishna)

Desert Festival
It is one occasion in Jaisalmer when the entire town comes to life with the

Gangaur Festival
Gan is a synonym for Shiva and Gaur, which stands for Gauri or Parvati who symbolises
'saubhagya' (marital bliss). Gauri is the embodiment of perfection and conjugal
love, which is why the unmarried women worship her for being blessed with good
husbands, while married women do so for the welfare, health and long life of
their spouses and a happy married and long life of their life.

The Mewar Festival is celebrated to welcome the advent of spring. It coincides
with the festival of Gangaur in Udaipur, and has a unique charm about it.The
festival of Gangaur is very significant for women of Rajasthan. It is a time
